Reflective Practice Club

A month-to-month membership that equips you with the
skills, knowledge, and confidence to
turn inwards for answers, so you build a business that’s distinctly and deliberately YOU-shaped

The idea that you’re just one piece of advice away from THE thing that turns the business you have into the business you want is the reason most of us business-owning folk spend a metric shit ton of time and money on intel, ideas, and answers that come from other people

Which isn’t to say that all those ideas are bad, but that — more often that not — the advice you get or the action you take hits *just* left of centre, and it’s only a matter of time before you realise you’re trying to fit into someone else’s box.

To top it off, the more you look to other people, the less you trust your expertise—

Which can leave you questioning whether you’re creating a business you love, or are just following instructions, thanks to the fact you feel uncertain within yourself

Resonating? It’s time we met 👇🏻

Hey, I’m Kirsty—

COACH, STRATEGIST, AND EX-PSYCHOTHERAPIST

I’m a big believer that the best strategy for your business (what you sell, how you launch, the boundaries you set, the way you stretch and grow — all of it!) is based on a number of highly contextual things, like:

  • Who you are

  • What makes you tick

  • What you’re really bloody good at

  • What you’re really bloody bad at (letting go of those things? SO freeing!)

  • The assets you have to play with

  • Who you’re selling to, and

  • The values you hold

And I’ll be damned if there’s anyone else more qualified to answer those questions than YOU.

Problem is, when you exist in a landscape that champions other people’s ideas and expertise above your own, it’s really bloody hard to go inwards for answers—

And even bloody harder to act on what you find (“But don’t I need a formula? A ‘proven process’? A roadmap from someone else who’s been there?” *disappears into the depths of google*)

AKA carving out space and time to pinpoint what’s working, what’s not, and what’s possible, so you can make sure every iteration of your business (from projects to processes to what you sell and how you sell it) is more informed than the last.

In other words, it’s a hyper-deliberate process of refinement, based very much on what matters for YOU.

Back in the world of therapy, reflective practice was *literally* built into the job. I had a clinical supervisor (usually a slightly scary one, who was a master of the long silence) who asked pertinent questions, and monthly group supervision sessions where I was expected to bring my reflections to the table.

One of the many glorious things my work as a therapist gifted me is the
skill of reflective practice

No such structure.
Until now…

INTRODUCING ✹

JOIN THE CLUB TO GET TO WORK ON MAY’S THEME

crafting your guarantee

If you’ve got an offer that’s not selling as well as you want it to, and you suspect a compelling safety-net could be the key to turning that around, this is for you.

We’ll kick things off on the first Monday of the month!

“It's like business therapy crossed with a lightbulb moment factory!
SO much has shifted for me! 🥹

Having the tools to better deal with those (plentiful!) moments of self-doubt has already helped me make decisions and take action in a more intentional way, without feeling that almost desperate need to search for external "support" (/validation!).

It helped me see, unpack + plan how to overcome a MASSIVE roadblock that I didn't even know was there. One that has had a huge impact on my life, and business.

Funnily enough it helped me realise I'm often seeking that external validation with other things (courses, groups etc) I've tried. So I'll join or consume or research as a way to avoid making decisions by myself, because then I can avoid the doubt and blame something external if things don't go to plan.

Instead, this gave me the tools to figure shit out on my own, better equipping me to deal with those moments when things go differently than expected.

It surprised me how deeply it impacted me.”

HERE'S HOW IT WORKS ✹

Every month, we’ll tackle a different theme, from prickly little nuggets like procrastination, pricing and self-doubt to big-picture question marks, like scale, lead gen, and positioning. You’ll know each month’s theme before you sign-up (June’s is optimising your offer ecosystem), so you can jump in only when it’s relevant for YOU.

Every Monday, at 9am AEST, I’ll email you a prompt (and a little context) to get your brain juices flowing. That prompt is yours to respond to wherever and however you like—

In a google doc, in your current notebook, on the back of a nearby envelope, or right there in your inbox. Since no-one else will see your responses (unless you choose to share them), rest assured they can be as messy, thought-dumpy, and in-your-unique-brand-of-shorthand-y as you please.

Each week’s prompt will feed into the next, so that by the end of the month, you have at least one practical, ACTIONABLE insight you can go and implement, right away.

Your outcome will be related to the month’s topic and unique to you, but expect to:

  • Join dots

  • Identify patterns

  • Gain perspective

  • Untangle messy thoughts

  • Bat around ideas

  • Pinpoint ‘what next’, and

  • Craft your path forward

Basically, the prompts will help you go from ‘why the heck isn’t this clicking?!’ to Aha! Here’s what I need to shift, and this is how I’m going to do it.’

AND THE BEST NEWS?

Reflective Practice Club is pay what you can, starting at just $7 USD per month

It has strengthened my self trust voice and therefore my confidence. I'm now looking at transitioning from a solo freelancer to creating my own firm, my self doubt is still there but I know it’s not all true so will move anyway.

I've invested an EYE WATERING amount in coaching and don't often take away tools I use regularly like this.

It has been a game changer.”

- AMY FOX, amyfox.com.au

“I never thought I'd leave with a tool I use this regularly that is so powerful for me and my business. It was incredible.

“This month’s reflective practice prompts have been 🔥. They’re helping me home in on what I want my business to look like without comparing it to 27 other businesses!

Reflective Practice Club is worth about $957.”

- PETA O’BRIEN-DAY, wordsbypeta.com

"I have gotten so clear on the things that I have been questioning for a while. I have been so caught up in the noise of what others are saying and advising, but this process has given me the permission I needed to trust myself to create my thing, my way.

In other programs, it's easy to feel like you need to keep up with someone else's timeline. And then if you fall behind, it's way too easy to get into a shame spiral about that!

This process is more motivating and inspiring. It's not a cookie cutter approach, (it) makes you focus on what feels right for you, and I get to choose my own steps moving forward.

Also, I love the email format! It takes away the process of having to log into an app, or getting distracted by a social media feed if it was to be in say a Meta group!”

AS YOU MAY HAVE NOTICED

This whole membership is about delivering things to your inbox—
which I know is *not* how the cookie usually crumbles

So here’s a handy little table to illustrate why I’ve chosen this format, because I suspect it will be exceptionally helpful for working out whether Reflective Practice Club will be a fit for you

Traditional membership models…

Deliver a lot of their value via a mix of static content you have to actively seek out (hello, 237 different course platforms and logins 🫠) and live calls you have to schedule around

Have at least a few bells and whistles you don’t need… but are still paying for

Put you in an increasingly crowded room, where being part of the community often feels like shouting into the void

Tend to champion one way of doing things (often via templates and ‘this worked for me’ how-to’s), which can make you feel less-than if it doesn’t click for you

Have lock-in-contracts, and three-figure-per-month membership fees

Reflective Practice Club…

Comes direct to your inbox, and is ready when you are

Leverages a no-frills model, to keep you focused on the task at hand

Offers you the exact same experience, regardless of how many others join the club

Champions context, prizes *your* insights and expertise, and builds confidence in your own ideas

Is pay what you can, starting at $7/month, with no lock in contracts, so you can actively opt-in to the themes that are relevant for you, and ignore the rest

Sound like the kind of membership model that might work for you?

“I was skeptical about the all-email format, but it was amazing to feel like I could just write and keep going until I exhausted everything that was in my mind.

When I'm in group coaching or memberships, I don't want to be that guy who sucks up all the airtime, dominates the conversation, and makes it all about me. Even in one-on-one coaching, I feel awkward going on and on and on without pausing and waiting for feedback.

To be able to just dump it all out there was liberating.”

- ROB PERRY, clickmagnetcopy.com

Reflective Practice Club isn’t about me sharing advice, or offering a show-and-tell
feat. things that worked for me

SO WE’RE SUPER-DUPER CLEAR,

Instead, it’s about me guiding your line of enquiry so YOU can pinpoint the source of some of that friction in your business, as well as opportunities for better alignment in how you work, what you sell, and who you serve.

As we go, the idea is not just that you find your own solution to that ‘thing’ that’s been hanging over your head these past few months (or years…), but that you *also* hone your ability to…

  • listen to your gut

  • challenge assumptions

  • pinpoint what’s important for you

  • reject ideas and ways of working that aren’t for you

  • identify strategies that make sense for *your* business, and

  • trust yourself to work it out

mean for your business?

FAQs

“What’s the theme for May?”

Crafting your guarantee. If you’ve got an offer that’s not selling as well as you want it to, and you suspect a compelling safety-net could be the key to turning that around, this is for you.

“And the theme for June?”

I’ll announce it on May 7th — i.e. after the May round has already kicked off. If it helps, all the themes are things I get asked about constantly — in my coaching, strategy work, and copywriting, so rest assured I haven’t just pulled them out of my arse 😉

“Can I join halfway through the month?”

At this stage, no. If you join the Club anytime after the first Monday of a given month (i.e. after the first prompt goes out) you’ll be joining for the next month and the next theme. This page will always be updated with the relevant intel, so you know what you’re signing up for.

“Is there a way to get my hands on past months’ themes?”

Not at this stage, but I’ve been asked this a few times now, so am thinking about it! If you’d like to see this option in future, drop me an email to let me know, so I can get a better sense of how many people this would serve.

“How much time do I need to set aside for this every week?”

The amount of time you need depends on how deep the prompts take you — some answers will be immediate, and others will take a little more digging. That said, 15-20 minutes a week is a pretty safe bet. And, because it’s all done via email, you can set aside that time whenever suits you… and dive straight in.

“Just to confirm, there’s no community element to this, right?”

That’s right. While there will be a community of people working through the prompts each month (and I’ll let you know exactly how many when you join, simply because there’s something cool about knowing you’re part of something), there’s no platform to connect and compare notes, and no risk of being influenced by other peoples’ reflections — which is probably hugely appealing if you’re someone who gets distracted by shiny objects or doesn’t have the bandwidth for yet another slack group, and hugely unappealing if you need that connective tissue to hold you accountable. (And if you’re in that last group, that’s awesome — click on outta this page, knowing Reflective Practice Club isn’t for you.)

“Do I share my reflections with you?”

No, partly because that’s precisely what lets me keep this offer as pay-what-you-can *and* guarantees you get the same experience, no matter how many people join, but MAINLY because the goal of this work is that you get really bloody good at finding answers within yourself, and build your confidence in the process ;) If you’re at a stage of business where you’re looking for hands-on 1:1 support, take a squiz at my services page.

“I know it’s ‘pay what you can’ starting at $7, but I’m wondering if there’s a price I ‘should’ be paying?”

There is! Whatever price sits right for you. If that’s $7, wonderful! If it’s $50, equally wonderful! If it’s $150, that’s wonderful too! Basically, draw a line between the value you get and what’s feasible for you right now. Wherever they meet is your answer. (And yep, I realise you probably won’t be able to answer that first question until after your first month. So, in case you need it, here’s permission to start at $7 😉)

“Can I sign up for more than a month at a time?”

Yes! By popular request, I’ve added a 6 month membership option, which you can find right here.

“Can I cancel my membership anytime?”

Since the membership is month-to-month (i.e. you have to ACTIVELY join each month), there’s no cancellation option. If it’s not your cup of tea, no worries! You gave it a crack, now you know, and you never have to do it again 😉

“I already own The Mirror Journal. Is this different?”

Great question! It’s similar, in terms of the whole thing being based on the principles of reflective practice, and how each prompt feeds into the next, but with Reflective Practice Club, the topics are different, and the prompts come to YOU (rather than you having to seek them out)

Helpfully, there are lots of people who’ve joined Club *and* own The Mirror Journal, which means they’re perfectly placed to answer this question. Here’s a peek at what a couple of them have to say:

“The biggest difference was having the prompts pop up in my inbox. I adore mirror journal and find it so helpful… when I remember it exists/to use it. Also, The Mirror Journal feels like troubleshooting (and prevention) while Reflective Practice Club feels like bigger, more foundational work.” — Ami Williamson

“Reflective Practice Club feels like the Mirror Journal come to life! It's just the perfect amount of reflection on a weekly basis, so I can dig into one big, messy question and pull some thoughtful answers out of it.” — Bree Weber

“I have another question…”

Great! Sock it to me, and I’ll get back to you ASAP.
