How to read and lead a (zoom) room this launch season
A free 75-minute workshop for coaches, course creators, and membership hosts who want to run workshops and webinars that create the kind of in-the-room experience people could never get from a recording
September 29th, 9:00 AM - 10:15 AM AEST
We’ve all hosted a live call that felt like pulling teeth
More cameras off than on, enough time for 47 tumbleweeds to frolic across the screen as you try to engage the room in the first few critical minutes, and a chat that barely scrolls — even though you get a few, “that was great, thank you!” comments as you close.
Throw a couple of unmuted mics in the mix, one person who keeps asking rogue questions — the kind that threaten to take you off-course, and an unexpected technical difficulty at your end, and it’s easy to see why the upcoming “cart open workshop” in your calendar is breaking you out in a sweat moustache.
To be clear, the fact this resonates isn’t proof you don’t have the ‘webinar gene’…
It’s more likely a result of there being 2708 different resources out there to help you plan and structure the content of your webinar or workshop (and you being the kind of person that cares enough about what you put into the world to dive into them 🫶🏻), but almost none that help you respond to and leverage what’s in the room.
As a result, you’ve aced the content part of the equation, but are missing the skills and know-how to:
✔ deliver it in a way that’s responsive — while still hitting the arc you need it to
✔ leverage the people in the room (their experience, emotions, frustrations, and desires) as an asset
✔ lead the room in a way that naturally promotes meaningful engagement, rather than trying to force it at pre-planned moments (*pause between slide 6 and 7 for questions*)
Fact is, in this very strange, robot-infused point on the timeline, where information is cheap, and moments of real human connection are hard(er) to come by, being able to shape a meaningful in-the-room experience for your attendees is often the thing that makes you (and your offer) stand out.
In short, a room that responds converts — not just because the experience itself is more meaningful, but because a person who has spoken, typed, been named, or (better yet) been in a room that makes them feel seen and understood is already invested —
Which means the buying decision, when it comes, is a continuation rather than a leap.
Join me for a free, live workshop on Septmber 29th @ 9AM AEST, and I’ll show you how to read and lead a room that actively creates that kind of experience
Expect to walk away with:
👉🏻 Clarity around (and some lived examples of) how to foster connection on a call in the first 5 minutes — even when you’re working with a group of strangers
👉🏻 A shift in the kind of questions you ask when you lead a room, so you’re inviting and expanding engagement, rather than accidentally forcing or squashing it
👉🏻 Nifty (and free!)tools you can lean on to accelerate the feeling of being ‘in’ the room together
👉🏻 A super simple sentence you can use to address any elephants in the room (e.g. an awkward silence, off-topic questions), plus an understanding of why you *should* name it, rather than let it go unchecked, and
👉🏻 A way totie what’s happened in the room into your pitch, so the right people feel uniquely qualified for what’s on offer
Expect some nifty psychological concepts (so you have your head around the hows and whys), a stack of real-life examples (because without this, the theory rarely sticks), and plenty of time and support to help you apply everything to your workshop or webinar.
Plus, as we go, I'll use a nifty little tool to randomly select 3 attendees for a few minutes of live 1:1 coaching.
You tell me about your workshop/webinar/other kind of live room — your current setup, specific sticking points, the bits you find really nerve-wracking — and we'll workshop it in real time, together.
All you have to do is show up live and throw your hat in the ring 😉
(Psst… if the idea of being visible like this scares the pants off you, no worries — you’re free to opt-out!)

Here’s what people say about being part of the live calls I facilitate
Just in case you want to check my creds 😉
“...those live hours are things worth showing up for, because it’s not like, “well maybe it’ll be useful, and maybe it’s a waste of my time”, it’s like “no, I’m going to get something out of that.” They really feel like ‘can’t miss’ events because they’re such important parts of the whole package, which is why I come even when it’s way past my bedtime.”
— ALEX HEENEY, SEVENTHROW.COM
“You are a part of something here, and you know it. I haven't had any thoughts about me being in a different time zone even. And that's a good thing. Even though I'm here all alone, several miles away from you on the other side of Earth, it still feels like I have a team. I have my team here in this space.”
— SUSANNA THAM, SUSANNATHAM.COM
“The community and space that you nurture and hold is exceptional. You just do such an exceptional job at facilitating those spaces and leading us and guiding us and holding space and helping us get real transformations and shifts from what on paper might might be like, ‘cool, a 75 minute call’, but it's so much more than that. They always serve up exactly what I need, and I get endless value from them, without having to sacrifice endless amounts of time in my week/month.”

Just so we’re clear…
This workshop starts from the assumption that what you're teaching is solid. The gap we're addressing isn't the content — it's how to get people to meaningfully engage with it, and set you up for a much more impactful launch.
If you're still figuring out what to teach, this won’t be the best fit for where you’re at.
JUST IN CASE YOU’VE BEEN BURNED BY ‘FREE WORKSHOPS’ BEFORE…

Hi, by the way!
I’m Kirsty —
An ex-psychotherapist and ex-launch copywriter who’s been facilitating group spaces (everything from cancer support groups to online courses and in-person retreats) since waaaaay back in 2011.
I’ve also been helping online business owners ace the design of their group spaces since 2018.
In other words, I’m kind of old, and I know my shit 😉
I’d love to see you at the workshop, and get to know you and what you teach!

FAQs
“Is this free?”
Sure is
“When is it?”
Tuesday September 29th at 9AM AEST. You’ll get a calendar invite when you register, so rest assured you won’t have to tackle any time zone maths on your own!
“I don’t use webinars or workshops in my launches, but I do host live Q&A/coaching calls inside my group program. Is it still worth coming?”
Sure is! The skills we’ll cover apply to any group calls, regardless of whether they live at the top of your funnel or inside one of your offers.
“Will there be a recording if I can’t make it live?”
Yep, the recording will be available for 48 hours after we wrap. As long as you’re registered, you’ll get the link ;) Just remember that if you can make it live, you get the benefit of my hands-on support to tailor the skills and strategy I'm stepping you through to the unique context of workshop or webinar.
“How will the 3 × 1:1 coaching slots work during the session?”
Great Q! I’ll be using a free ‘prize draw’ tool during the workshop so that everyone who’s there live has an equal chance of getting one of the spots. If you don’t want to share intel about your calls and sticking points with the other people in the room, that’s ok - you can easily opt-out! It’ll just be a chance to get my undivided attention on your current challenge and how we can solve it, but there’s zero pressure to engage.
“Will I be able to get your help with ther specifics of my calls if I don’t win one of the coaching spots?”
Yes, but only via the chat ;) So more Q+A style, as opposed to coaching + consulting.
“Will you pitch something at the end?”
Yep — I’ll invite you to check out Create ‘n Facilitate, so you know how we can work together if you want more help optimising your ability to read, lead, and shape a room. Having said this, please know I would sooner guzzle a toe hair smoothie than deliver a workshop that doesn't offer value on its own. In other words, it's a workshop that contains an invitation to work together, rather than an invitation to work together, disguised as a workshop.
